Great day at Barber Motorsport Park! Decided to sleep in a bit instead of getting up at the crack of down to get to the track when the gates open. I had a little more pep in the step and was able to get around more. I shot over 2000 photos today! Lots of editing is going to have to happen. Spent the morning watching Stefan qualify and watched the IRL guys/gals qualify as well. Stefan was able to pilot his #28 Bryan Herta Motorsports machine to P6. Looking for him to move up sports during the race! Safe drive and good luck tomorrow! Lunch in the Paddock Club was great! Spent about an hour just talking BSW and racing with Stefan. He loves the DICE iPod kit and is itching to get back to his 'racing home' of Indy so he can install a Stage 1 Speaker upgrade! Left Stefan to spend the afternoon with his team! Doing a photoshoot in his suit with the car tomorrow morning before the Indy Lights race. Se photos below from today. Unfortunately no editing proram so just converted and downsized for the bog here. Stay tuned for the full shots! I missed most of the Grand Am race itself but was there to see the Continental Tire race in the afternoon. Lots of BMW M3s and 330s running in that race. One of the shops I worked at right out of school was down from Chicago. They did quite well finishing 4th, 6th and 13th. The car that finished 4th started in DEAD LAST behind all the GS and ST cars! Someone bumped them on lap 1 and they had to rip the bumper off in the pits! One car was running 4th and was involved in an accident but that vehicle eventually finished 13th. Turner Motorsports finished 3rd and 5th. The winner of the big Grand Am Daytona Prototype class was powered by a BMW motor massaged by Dinan... Great day to be a BMW fan! Up early to see the races!
