Curious about where your car's speakers come from?
Well, brace yourself for this: the vast majority of speakers are made in China! According to a recent report, China accounted for almost 70% of all speaker production in 2020. Yes it's hard to avoid the "Made in China" label these days, but it's important to remember that many high-quality speakers are still made in China. You may be surprised to learn, even Harman Kardon part of Harman International, owned by Samsung does produce speakers in China (and they may be in your car now).

Similar to Apple, all of Bavsound's speaker products are proudly designed in California, USA and assembled in China.
So why does China dominate the speaker market? For starters, the country has a massive and highly skilled workforce that can produce speakers quickly and efficiently. Additionally, China's manufacturing infrastructure is second to none, with cutting-edge technology and streamlined production processes.
Of course, there are some concerns about quality control and labor practices in Chinese factories. However, many companies have taken steps to address these issues and ensure that their products meet high standards. The concerns about quality control and labor practices do still exist in some Chinese factories, particularly those that create "knock-off" products.
Bavsound has recently experienced issues with Chinese knock-off brands. We have found copycat upgrades of our subwoofers being offered through Alibaba. The listings are a blatant copy of our product appearance and marketing material. However, the components and specifications of the knock-offs are completely different from the original Bavsound subwoofers and do not perform the same. We’ve come to learn that once a successful product has shown longevity in the marketplace it becomes a target for cheaper quality knock-offs. Unfortunately, Chinese authorities are not concerned with such matters and there is a lack of copyright laws to prevent such occurrences.
So the next time you're shopping for new car speakers, don't be deterred if you see "Made in China" on the label. Just remember that where a product is made is just one factor to consider when making a purchase. Focus on the quality of the product and the reputation of the brand, and you'll be sure to find the perfect speakers for your car.
