Stage One BMW Speaker Upgrade for E70/E71 X5/X6 with Premium Top Hi-Fi

Some kind of glue included with the kit to better secure the tweeters would make it 100%. Sounds fantastic compared to stock. Better sound at mich lower volume.

Big difference in sound with the stage 1 upgrade. The install was very straight forward and the change out of speakers was very simple. Once you got the first door done, the rest was even easier. I spent some time on each door installing sound deadening mat to the doors, then used Mcguires vinyl and leather conditioner to each door rubbing in by hand, letting sit and wiping off in a circular motion before reinstalling. Wow!

Ghost woofers are arriving soon to complete the install.

I recently installed the ghost sub upgrade in my 2012 E71 and haven’t finished the 10-12hr break-in period yet, but can say that combined with the Stage-1 upgrade, these speakers definitely enhance the fidelity, clarity, tonality, & balance of the HK (premium hi-fi) sound system.
I’m currently running the EQ settings recommended by Bavsound and can immediately tell a difference in the level of detail, and possibly more attributed to the Stage-1 components, the midrange-bass sound stage has been raised.
Now I haven’t gone crazy yet with high-volumes yet due to another 4-6hrs left in the break-in period, but this was 1 main reason for my purchase. The OEM speakers distorted and began to sound “tinny” at high volume. This appears to have disappeared.
All of that being said, if you’re any kind of audio-head who appreciates theatre quality sound, you will probably still want to add an independent, powered component subwoofer. Right now, at some of the lowest frequencies, the ghost subs aren’t able to produce the volume or SPL I prefer. But that are still way ahead of the factory components.
A+ Bavsound; you gave me a cheaper alternative to amped aftermarkets that would require custom installation & mounts and still gave me the detail I desire.

The installation was smooth as silk and I'm almost at the end of my 12 Hour Break in. i swapped all Mids, Highs and went with the Ghost Subs under my seats for a truly unparalleled sound experience. even during break-in during my forbidden period where i was instructed not to raise the volume too moderately i teased just a bit and could sense the crisp, clean and clear sound produced. i have since played different genres of music at different volume levels, still being conservative, and have found complete joy in the sound experience. Great Experience, wonderful team, and remarkable product!

I was thinking about going with Morels and a Mobridge sound processor and aftermarket amps at twice the cost. I have a 2013 X5 with top premium hifi system. I went with the stage 1, Ghosts and a JL Stealth box with 500 watt rms JL amp. All is good. I cannot compare the difference if I went with the morels and aftermarket amps, but I can tell you it is really impressive. I am fairly finicky with my audio choices and this setup sounds really good. I am totally happy with this decision and I was fairly convinced prior to install that I would remove these and go with the Morels and Jehnerts under the seat. I am glad I did not bail on these and go the other way. All the highs, mids and lows that were missing before with the stock system are there now and they are very clear. For those of you considering this setup and you like very tight and deep bass then I would go with the JL stealthbox as well. The Ghosts for me are necessary for the bass lines and the sub is also for the lows, it really fills this system out. Is the JL Stealthbox overkill for this car?...Yes, it is, this thing rattles your lungs if you want, but I have it turned down and you need it if you desire a full spectrum sound, the Ghosts don't quite go low enough, but they are great for bass detail. Anyhow, I love it, I am really enjoying it and I can tell that this stage 1 system has been well engineered. Even better news, I probably only have 6 hours in on these speakers and my factory EQ is still flat and it sounds great. I am excited to adjust it even more. Great Job BavSound! The sound from these speakers are awesome. I can hear things with these speakers that I could not hear with the stock speakers. The installation was very straight forward after reviewing the videos. I also purchased the stage one and sub woofer for my E38. What a difference! I have to say that the sound is better in my E38 than the E70. Maybe its the sub woofer placement. Anyway, I love the speakers.
